Antoine Comps : Consultant

Antoine is part of Oxera’s Competition team and has worked on various competition cases, including antitrust litigations, antitrust damages, mergers and market investigations, across sectors such as telecoms and media, payment systems, transport (railways) and the waste management sector.

Antoine joined Oxera in February 2021 after completing an Advanced Master in quantitative methods for economic and financial decisions at ENSAE and a Masters in corporate finance and strategy at Sciences Po (Paris). He also participated in a three-month student ‘business project’ where he analysed real e-commerce data provided by the main challenger of Amazon in France. 

During his studies, Antoine completed off-cycle internships at an competition economics consultancy in Paris and at the economic research department of Coface, a leading trade credit insurer. Before joining Oxera, he worked for several years at the OECD as an economic analyst in the fields of public procurement and regional and urban development.

  • Mergers between TV channels in France and the Netherlands, with a focus on market definition (quantitative SSNIP test). Contributed to a conjoint survey of advertisers (2021)

  • Antitrust (abuse of dominance) damages case (excessive pricing) against BT in the UK (2021–22)

  • Antitrust damages case against Mastercard before EU national courts brought by merchants regrading multilateral interchange fees (2021–22)

  • Several small antitrust cases in the waste sector in France (2021–22)

  • Market investigation and regulation projects in the railway sector in France and the UK (2021 and 2022)
