Commenting on the announcement, Robin Noble, Partner, said:

We are delighted and honoured to have Julian as part of our extended professional network. The world is becoming more digital, and economics has a lot to say about these changes and the associated challenges and opportunities. Julian brings extensive knowledge and an unrivalled passion to this debate. We are very much looking forward to working with him.

Julian added:

I have been studying multi-sided platforms for nearly 20 years now—since I first became interested in payment platforms. Over this time, I have had the pleasure of working with Oxera on a number of interesting questions related to debit and credit card payments. I’ve always found the intellectual approach to tackling questions at Oxera highly stimulating and indeed most helpful for my own research. I very much look forward to working together on new projects that further our understanding of important platform competition issues.

Julian joins Oxera’s global network of renowned academics and highly skilled independent experts. These individuals are recognised within a variety of sectors, and our collaboration with them means that we can offer the most robust and innovative advice to our clients.
