Dr Barbara Veronese will be based in Milan and play a key role in our continuing international growth. She will further bolster our position in the Italian market, where we already advise corporate clients and law firms on a range of competition, regulatory and litigation matters from our office in Rome.
Barbara joins Partner and Head of Oxera’s Rome office Dr Leonardo Mautino and Direttore Professor Alfredo Macchiati in demonstrating Oxera’s firm commitment to the Italian market. Barbara also joins Oxera’s Competition and TMT practices in working on matters across Europe and beyond.
Barbara is a highly experienced economist who specialises in competition, antitrust, damages litigation, regulation and state aid. She advises private and public sector clients on national and pan-EU matters across a range of sectors. For example, Barbara has advised clients extensively on cartel effects and damages, as well as on auction matters and spectrum policy.
Prior to joining Oxera, Barbara was a Partner at CEG Europe. Before CEG Europe, she worked at Ofcom, where she focused on competition policy and spectrum policy. She has also taught graduate, postgraduate and executive education courses at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Commenting on the announcement, Oxera’s Managing Partner Dr Helen Jenkins said:
We welcome Barbara joining the Partnership and are excited about the contribution she will make to the continuing growth of Oxera. She brings a wealth of experience and a true passion for economics, as well as an impressive portfolio. We are very much looking forward to working with Barbara to further develop our position in Italy and across Europe.
I am delighted and excited to be joining Oxera at this important time for the wider economic debate and markets. I look forward to advancing our business internationally, focusing on regulation, competition and litigation in Europe, and continuing to deliver first-class service to clients in Italy.
The new office in Milan will be closely integrated with the office in Rome, and continues our expansion in Europe, adding an eighth location to our network of European offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, London, Oxford, Paris and Rome.
