Virginia González García : Analyst

Virginia is a member of Oxera’s Competition team. Her experience includes advising clients across several sectors including financial services, digital, and healthcare.

Prior to joining Oxera, she was a trainee at the Directorate–General for Competition at the European Commission. Virginia was attached to the Chief Economist Team. Virginia holds a double master’s degree in Economics and Competition Law from the Toulouse School of Economics, where she focused on competition economics, competition law, industrial organisation, econometrics, and regulation.

  • Litigation support in a UK consumer action against crypto exchanges concerning the delisting of BSV and resulting alleged harm to holders (2023–)

  • Supported the team advising a global payment card scheme in responding to the Central Bank of Mexico’s review of interchange fees (2025)

  • Economic analysis in the context of the UK market investigation into veterinary services for household pets (2023–25)

  • Supported the team advising Nokia on the EU and multijurisdictional merger control reviews of its acquisition of Infinera (2024–25)
