Simon Specht : Senior Consultant

Simon is a Senior Consultant in Oxera’s Berlin office, bringing over six years of experience in competition economics from a major consultancy in Germany. He has developed substantial expertise across merger control proceedings, damages estimation and abuse of dominance cases before European and national competition authorities. His work spans multiple sectors including automotive, healthcare, retail and financial services.

Simon has advised on numerous high-profile merger investigations at both Phase I and Phase II level before the European Commission and national authorities. He has contributed to complex damages quantification exercises across a wide range of cartel and competition law infringement cases. His analytical capabilities are underpinned by a strong foundation in empirical methods, particularly econometrics and quantitative analysis.

Simon also gained valuable experience through research positions at leading German economic institutes, including the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC). He also completed an internship in the Finance and Regulation sector at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
