Sam Trott Consultant

Samuel is a member of the Finance & Valuation team at Oxera. He works on state aid and regulatory finance cases, with a focus on company valuation, profitability and financial market data analysis. Samuel’s work spans a wide range of sectors, including transport, telecoms, energy, water and financial services. Before joining Oxera in September 2021, Samuel graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a Master’s degree in Finance, where he specialised in financial valuation and corporate finance principles. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree in Business Economics at the University of Exeter, focusing on accounting principles, valuation techniques and microeconomics.

  • Assessed the financial impact of introducing a competitive tender process for offshore transmission projects (2022–)

  • Assessed the financial aspects of the decision by the European Commission to provide state aid to a European airline (2022)

  • Analysed financial reports for a European music licensing firm to advise on the actions that the company could take to counter the recent decline in profitability (2022)
