Jakob Arendt : Analyst

Jakob works in Oxera’s Analytics and Data Science Centre of Excellence. He focuses on advanced applications of statistical analysis and econometric modelling. Jakob is particularly interested in analysis and inference that helps substantiate causal relationships. He has experience in regulatory and competition matters across the EU and the UK, and has contributed his skills in project teams which advised on efficiency in regulated infrastructure markets, regulation of fees in payment services, mergers, and antitrust damages estimation.

Before joining Oxera, Jakob interned and worked in EU banking regulation and resolution planning, and interned at a German commercial bank. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Mannheim, and is due to graduate with a MSc in Empirical Economics from the University of Graz this spring.
