Dr Emiel Awad : Consultant

Emiel is a member of Oxera’s Competition team. He applies economic principles and analytical tools to provide solutions to a range of client issues. He works on projects relating to cartels, mergers, estimation of damages, and market dominance, as well as regulatory policy.

Prior to joining Oxera, Emiel studied economics and political science at Leiden University and Erasmus University, and completed a PhD in political science at the University of Rochester, with a focus on lobbying, policy-making and organisational design. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was also an Associate Research Scholar in the Department of Politics at Princeton University, where he was a member of the Program for Quantitative and Analytical Political Science. Emiel specialises in mathematical modelling and game theory.
