Domenico Favoino : Analyst

Domenico is a member of Oxera’s Competition, Regulation and Market Design teams. Guided by economic theory, he uses advanced analytical tools to provide solutions to client issues. He has applied his analytical skills in projects across a wide range of sectors, including retail, consumer services and electricity transmission networks.

Domenico holds a PhD in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research focused on inter-firm contractual arrangements and the role of institutions in shaping local market outcomes. During his studies, Domenico completed research assistantships at the Dutch National Bank (DNB), the Brussels-based economic think tank Bruegel, and Bocconi University.

  • Advised a client in the context of the market investigation in the UK veterinary services sector launched by the Competition and Markets Authority (2024)

  • Conducted empirical analyses in support of a client found to be involved in a cartel in the chemical sector (2024)

  • Advised Terna and TenneT, two European electricity transmission system operators, on their network investment strategies  (2024)

  • Advised Mastercard in the Commercial and Interregional Card Claims collective proceedings before the Competition Appeal Tribunal (2024)
