Daniel Méndez Fernández : Consultant

Daniel is a member of Oxera’s Competition team. Since joining in January 2023, he has advised clients in the context of high-profile mergers, horizontal and vertical agreements, abuse of dominance, and damages claims. He has worked across a range of sectors including life sciences, manufacturing, utilities, and retail.

Before joining Oxera, Daniel graduated with a Master’s degree from the Barcelona School of Economics, where he specialised in competition economics. Prior to that, he worked as a research analyst in management consulting for two years.

  • Advised both Parties on the merger review by the European Commission on the Constantia/Aluflexpack merger (2024–25)

  • Supported Boehringer Ingelheim in response to allegations by a National Competition Authority of abuse of dominance by potentially exclusionary practices (2024)

  • Advised Arçelik and Whirlpool in relation to the merger of their European appliances businesses (EU and UK, 2022–24)
