On Tuesday 29 September, Oxera, in partnership with the UK State Aid Law Association, will host an evening seminar at Oxera’s London office. The meeting will discuss the application of the state aid rules in the energy sector, including the European Commission’s recent decision on support for Hinkley Point C, and other energy projects in the UK. Topics will include:
- the Commission’s sector inquiry into the mechanisms to ensure electricity supply;
- the impact of the Commission’s ‘more economic’ approach in energy cases;
- the application of the PreussenElektra and Altmark case law in the energy sector;
- the use of the Commission’s state aid powers in advance energy policy objectives.
Oxera Partner, Jostein Kristensen, will be joined by panel members, Jackie Holland, Special Adviser, Slaughter and May, and Kai Struckmann, Partner, White and Case. The seminar will be chaired by Adina Claici, Senior Economist, European Commission.
