We are delighted to announce that Professor Alfredo Macchiati has joined Oxera as a Partner. Alfredo started working with Oxera four years ago, and has dedicated his efforts to supporting our business development activities in Italy.
Alfredo is Professor of Economic Policy, LUISS-Guido Carli University, Rome, and an expert on regulation and competition. At Oxera he has advised a wide range of clients, including companies, investors and regulatory authorities in the water, energy, waste and transport sectors.
Alfredo’s professional experience encompasses research and analysis of regulation and competition for institutions such as CONSOB and Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato, and for firms such as Enel and Ferrovie dello Stato. From 2011 to 2015, he was Director General of Cassa Conguaglio per il settore elettrico (CCSE), the Italian clearinghouse of the electricity and gas sector. He was subsequently Senior Advisor at infrastructure investor, CDP Reti, where he advised on regulatory and antitrust issues. Alongside his work in business, Alfredo has taught at several Italian universities.
Alfredo’s appointment as Partner is an indication of his contribution to the development and success of the business in Italy, and confirms Oxera’s commitment to providing first-class advice to Italian clients.
