Oxera recognised by Global Competition Review (GCR) as being at the forefront of competition law

In addition to Gunnar’s individual nomination, cases worked on by Oxera’s economists have been nominated in multiple categories for the GCR Awards 2013, including Speech or Conference Session of the Year and Litigation of the Year. Two separate cases have been nominated in the latter category: National Grid v Gas-insulated switchgear cartelists, UK; and 2Travel Group plc v Cardiff City Transport Services Limited (Cardiff Bus) before the CAT, UK. These nominations highlight Oxera’s leading capabilities in the field of litigation. Furthermore, Oxera has advised clients on three other cases that have been nominated: Court of Appeal of England & Wales in Ryanair Holdings plc v Office of Fair Trading (nominated for Enforcement Matter of the Year); Defence of Chunghwa in global CRT and LCD cartel investigations (nominated for Matter of the Year); and Interveners in UPS/TNT (nominated for Merger Control Matter of the Year – Europe).

Gunnar, who has been at Oxera for 14 years and leads the company’s work in competition policy and litigation, states: ‘This is the third year in a row an Oxera economist has been nominated in the Economist of the Year category. I am very proud of the way we have been able to contribute in the legal space through our robust and innovative economic thinking, and with Helen and my other colleagues we form a strong team.’

GCR is inviting votes on its 2013 Awards until March 26th 2013. Visit the GCR website to find out more.
