In his new role, supported by a team of 70, he will be responsible for all aspects of regulation of Southern Water and will lead the development of its corporate strategy and strategic asset management. A challenging role indeed, at a time of unprecedented change in the water sector, in particular with the move to retail market liberalisation this month.
Oxera has been economics adviser to Southern Water’s Board for many years, and Craig’s appointment is testament to the success of this relationship.
Dr Luis Correia da Silva noted: ‘We will miss Craig enormously. He brought to Oxera his in-depth experience from his previous roles at BT and Ofcom. He combined this with his economics and corporate finance expertise and Oxera’s understanding of regulation to work successfully with many clients in the energy, water, communications and transport sectors. We wish him every success in his new role at Southern Water’.
