Oxera expands further into Europe with a new office in Berlin and senior hires in Brussels, and reveals extensive rebrand

Set up to advise clients across all of Oxera's areas of expertise, the Berlin office is led by Dr Michael Kraus, an expert in energy, regulation and litigation, who joins Oxera from NERA. Dr Kraus is joined by Enno Eilts, a senior member of Oxera’s Competition practice, who is relocating from the Brussels office.

In addition to the expansion into Germany, Oxera is growing its capability in Brussels, with two new senior appointments: Pascale Déchamps joins as a Senior Adviser, with ten years’ experience in EU and French competition cases at CRA; and Dr Christian Huveneers, former Vice-Chairman of the Belgian Competition Council and now one of the Assessors at the new Competition Council, joins as a part-time Associate.

Paul Breakwell, Chief Operating Officer at Oxera, comments: ‘We are proud to be able to announce the appointment of these outstanding individuals to the senior team. Together, they highlight our continued growth in the French, Belgian, Dutch and German markets—all of which are key to our business –  ensuring we continue to provide an effective service for our European clients.’

In conjunction with the announcement of its new Berlin office, Oxera has today launched an extensive corporate rebrand, undertaken to communicate its unique values, and accurately reflect Oxera's commitment to delivering compelling economics consistently, and to the benefit of its clients, as it grows its presence in the European marketplace.

Oxera chose an innovative approach in appointing law firm Mishcon de Reya to lead this stage of its rebranding exercise. Through their existing relationship, Oxera was able to draw on Mishcon’s impressive capability in brand management and development. As a result, it was able to take a comprehensive view of the market positioning and communication strategy.

Paul Breakwell explains: ‘As we continue to grow, we have decided to invest in the presentation of our business to the market, to ensure it best reflects our unique values and difference. This rebrand ensures that we continue to reflect Oxera’s compelling offering consistently to our clients as we grow across Europe.’
