Oxera Chairman, Professor Anthony Julius, played by Andrew Scott in the film Denial

Oxera Chairman, Professor Anthony Julius, will from today be appearing on screen in cinemas nationwide, played by Andrew Scott (whom you may know as Moriarty from Sherlock).

Based on History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier, by Deborah Lipstadt, Denial depicts the original trial in the Royal Courts of Justice on 11 January 2000 before Mr Justice Gray between David John Cawdell Irving (claimant) and Penguin Books Limited and Deborah E. Lipstadt (defendants). Anthony (Mishcon de Reya) appeared on behalf of Ms Lipstadt.

Commenting on the film, Anthony said: ‘I am delighted that this case, which remains highly topical, has found its way to the big screen.’
