Following the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) provisional findings published on 30 September 2015, the CMA has today cleared the acquisition of Bournemouth Water by Pennon and the subsequent merger of Bournemouth Water with South West Water.
 
Oxera is the economic adviser to Pennon, and provided in-depth economic analyses of the potential effect of the merger on Ofwat’s ability to make comparisons between water companies.
