Daniel Leppert : Consultant

Daniel is a member of Oxera’s Analytics Centre of Excellence. He uses economics and analytical tools, such as data science and causal inference methods, to provide solutions to a range of client issues across various sectors and areas of expertise including transport, competition and energy. He is an experienced Python and R developer, including for spatial analysis using geographic information systems (GIS).

Before joining Oxera, Daniel was a research associate at Durham University where he is also a PhD candidate. During his PhD, Daniel has collected, processed and analysed firm-level economic data to evaluate sectoral responses to environmental regulation. His work on spatially differentiated risks faced by insurance companies and the coal-fired power sector has been published in peer-reviewed journals and attracted funding from government and academic institutions.
