Ignacio Balaguer : Consultant

Ignacio is a member of Oxera’s Competition team. He is an economist with a strong focus on industrial organization (IO) and econometrics. He completed his MSc in Economics at the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE), where he specialised in competition policy, regulation, and advanced econometric techniques. In addition, he deepened his IO expertise while working as a research assistant at Barcelona School of Economics and Universitat Pompeu Fabra, gaining hands-on experience in demand estimation techniques and their application to economic research.

Prior to joining Oxera, Ignacio worked at E.CA Economics, where he applied advanced econometric methods to assess damages in litigation cases. He has extensive experience handling large datasets in the context of cartel and abuse of dominance disputes and has provided expert testimony before Spanish courts in one of the largest European cartel cases in recent decades.
