Rafael Cárdenas Castillo : Analyst

Rafael is a member of Oxera’s Competition team where he leverages his expertise in quantitative and econometric analysis to tackle issues relating to competition economics.

Prior to joining Oxera, he worked as an analyst in KPMG’s Competition team. In this role, he acted as an independent expert in damage claims arising from breaches of competition law, with a focus on analysing the presence of effects and quantifying damages using data analysis and econometric techniques, particularly with the software STATA and R. Rafael has also provided expert witness testimony in competition and damages cases before Spanish courts.

Before his tenure at KPMG, Rafael worked in the Energy and Resources department at Deloitte. Additionally, he gained valuable experience through an internship at Analistas Financieros Internacionales, where he worked for more than a year in the departments of Applied Economics and Economics & Financial Markets.
