Philipp co-leads Oxera’s DACH team and heads the DACH Energy team. He has close to 15 years of consulting experience across damages estimation, mergers, state aid, regulation, and abuse of market power, advising clients before competition and regulatory authorities as well as in court and out-of-court proceedings.
Philipp has extensive experience in the application of empirical analysis and is co-author of a chapter in the handbook on vertical restraints in competition law edited by Bauer, Rahlmeyer, and Schöner. He publishes on the topics of competition economics, damages estimation, and energy markets. Lexology lists him as a ‘Thought Leader’ for Germany and, according to Juve, he is among the 20 most recommended economic advisers in Germany.
Clients highlight his ‘excellent economic expertise’, his ‘brilliant understanding of markets’, and his ‘extreme solution orientation’. They also commend him for being ‘great’ in oral hearings. Prior to joining Oxera, Philipp ran his own competition economics consultancy for five years.
