What was the client issue?
It was a landmark case. To persuade the then Secretary of State to allow small oil and gas companies access to pipelines and to agree a price to use the infrastructure.
How did we help the client solve it?
Our role was to present a clear analysis of the access charges and a clear framework for lawyers to communicate this to the Secretary of State.
Why was the outcome compelling for the client?
The case was not only won, the right price agreed and a precedent set but the analysis became government policy.
