Professor Ryan Williams : Principal

Ryan is an expert in corporate finance—in particular, in valuation, financial institutions, risk management, and law and finance. He is a member of Oxera’s Finance and Valuation team and advises clients on litigation and regulatory issues. Ryan is also a Professeur Affilié at the Université Paris-Dauphine – PSL in Paris, where he lectures on financial valuation, empirical methods, and corporate restructuring. He was previously an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Arizona, where he designed an award-winning course in financial modelling. He has performed valuation work for multiple start-up firms, and advised on Europe-based regulatory and litigation cases. Ryan has also served as an executive director for a $2.5bn financial institution and chaired the board risk management committee.

Ryan’s academic research has been profiled by Harvard Law School and Columbia Law School, in Forbes, and has been published in multiple top-tier academic journals. He has also presented before the US Federal Trade Commission. Ryan has been awarded endowed fellowships at the Risk Institute at the Ohio State University, the National Center for Middle Markets at the Ohio State University, and the Global Association of Risk Partners in New York City. In addition to over 50 invited presentations in the USA, Ryan has given invited talks in Austria, Canada, Chile, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Prior to his current roles, Ryan was an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Reznick Group, and a computer programmer at Khafra Engineering. He has also worked as a visiting professor at Université Lille in France.
