Graduates

We are looking for Analysts who share our passions: economics, finance, personal growth and outstanding client service.

Working at Oxera means contributing to projects from day one. You’ll be part of the team, working with some of the brightest and most experienced minds in the industry. At Oxera, we value a good work–life balance and diversity of background and thought. You’ll need to bring exceptional technical skills, a strong team ethic and the intellectual curiosity to get to the heart of the issue.

  • You need to restructure a major European football club. What is the best financial strategy that will be compatible with state aid rules?
  • How can you assess the damages suffered by a company that has bought products from a cartel?
  • Two large telecom providers want to merge. What will be the impact on competition in Europe?
  • Online platforms continue to expand into new areas. How do they affect existing markets, and are they treating their users fairly?

If you can’t wait to get your teeth into these, and other, interesting questions, then we have the job for you at Oxera, one of Europe’s leading microeconomic and finance consultancies.

Oxera is looking for graduate Analysts to be based in one of our offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, London, Oxford, Paris or Rome to support our teams with project and business development initiatives. The project work is varied and you will have exposure from day one: one week you could be assessing a telecoms merger in South America, and the next week providing advice to a consortium of international investors on an investment worth billions of euros in a European airport.

At Oxera, we value diversity of background and thought. You’ll need to bring exceptional technical skills, a strong team ethic and the intellectual curiosity to get to the heart of the issue.

What we’re looking for

  • Candidates should have a first class undergraduate degree and have, or be working towards, a postgraduate degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance or Data Science with a solid background in microeconomics
  • Excellent academic record
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to build robust client relationships and manage complex projects
  • In addition to excellent spoken and written English, fluency in a second European language is desirable, particularly French, German, Dutch or Italian
  • Highly motivated and committed team player
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Stata, SQL, R, Python, machine learning, prediction algorithms, random forest, neural network and big data would be advantageous
  • Relevant work experience is desirable

What we offer

  • Highly competitive salary and bonus package with comprehensive benefits
  • A collaborative and fun multicultural working environment
  • The opportunity to work with some of the brightest and most experienced minds in the industry
  • A structured career path
  • First-class, hands-on learning with training and development opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements

How we travel is a decision we take virtually every day. How our latest purchase gets to us from its country of origin, and how much it costs, depends on the logistics chain that makes this possible. Transport is fundamental to the efficient functioning of global economies.

Companies, regulatory/competition authorities and governments involved in transport provision and policy have drawn on our economics and finance expertise for more than 30 years. The quality of our insights sets us apart, as does our ability to engage in the biggest issues affecting the sector, users and participants.

Working with partner organisations such as engineers, lawyers and other technical specialists, our economists cover all modes of transport, blending industry knowledge and insight; applications of the latest developments in transport economics; and our corporate understanding of competition, regulation, finance and data analytics.

This blending of skills is a hallmark of our Transport practice. Be it in assessing the impact of planned new infrastructure; helping a transport operator set fair prices for its services; designing the framework within which lifeline ferry services are provided to an island or islands; or working on the biggest international cases in state aid, competition and litigation, we bring the right expertise at the right time to establish robust evidence for our clients to use in achieving their desired outcome.

We are looking for an experienced transport economist to join our growing company as a Consultant. The successful candidate will be a core part of the Transport team and will have the option to work across a range of products and geographies. We have ambitious plans, and you will play an important part in developing our relationships with strategic clients and delivering projects to realise these ambitions.
