Current Vacancy: Senior Consultant in Italy 

New Senior Consultant post in Rome (Regulation and Antitrust, or Financial Regulation and Banking Economics)

We are looking for a Senior Consultant with strong regulatory and antitrust experience, or regulatory, finance and banking experience. You will play an important role either in advising and providing accurate analysis to our public and private sector on all areas of regulation and competition activities, or in developing our financial sector in Italy, while providing accurate analysis and analysing financial information to a range of clients.

You will need to work collaboratively with your internal colleagues and external advisers to identify key economic issues and develop analytical approaches to solve the challenges that our clients are facing.

You will manage a variety of projects in terms of size and impact. You will maintain client relationships and provide creative alternatives and recommendations to our clients based on sound analysis. You will perform quantitative and qualitative research, draft expert reports, and communicate and present results both internally and externally.

With this specific role being based in our developing Italian office, you will need to have a sound knowledge of the Italian business environment and associated European and Italian regulation.

What we’re looking for

You will have an excellent academic record in economics. The minimum requirement is a 2:1 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in Economics and/or Finance. A Masters degree in Economics and/or Finance is desirable. Applications from candidates with PhDs in a relevant field are also welcome.

You will need to have at least 5 years’ relevant experience, ideally with another economics consultancy, a financial institution, an audit firm, a regulator (UK or EU) or a government department.

You must be proficient in working with spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications. Experience with statistical analysis, statistical packages and financial forecasting is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication is a must, as is the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear, concise and easy-to-follow manner.   

Candidates for this role will also be expected to demonstrate commercial awareness, project management skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
